ADVANCED INFRASTRUCTURE

Hostnames found in historical Xbox tooling. These are monitored and archived but deliberately kept out of the figures above, because their exact roles are community hypotheses rather than documented fact. Several still hold a DNS record while nothing listens on the other end, which is a service switched off rather than a service down.

INFRASTRUCTURE TIMELINE

Every change XBGuide has observed in this infrastructure, kept permanently. Routine address rotation is filtered out, so what is left is genuine movement: a hostname disappearing, a service arriving on an address it has never used before, or a response signature changing. The full log is available as JSON.

SHARED ENDPOINTS

These hostnames currently resolve to the same address, so they are almost certainly the same listener. Treat them as one piece of evidence rather than several. Addresses sit behind Microsoft traffic management and can change between checks.

DECOMMISSIONED

These hostnames no longer resolve at all. They are retired rather than down, so they are not monitored or counted against the figures above. The Xbox 360 Marketplace shut down in July 2024.

NOT IMPLEMENTED, ON PURPOSE

Protocol-aware probes would raise confidence a long way: speaking enough of each service's real protocol that the server has to parse the request and answer. XBGuide does not do this, because the request formats for these services come from community reverse-engineering rather than verified documentation, and there is no known-good response to compare against. Guessing would produce a confident-looking number built on nothing. Multi-region checks are also not running yet, so everything here is measured from a single location.
